Analysis
1. The Correlation Is Absolute
The pattern admits no exceptions:
- Maxwell & Einstein asked “Why” → Debris Ratios under 0.5
- Copenhagen & Standard Model forbade “Why” → Debris Ratios over 3.0
This is not coincidence. This is causation.
2. The “Toxic” Zone
String Theory represents the terminal case:
- Debris Ratio: Infinite (10^500 solutions = no solution)
- Testability: Zero
- Consensus: 2/10
When “why” is replaced entirely by mathematical elegance, the result is not physics. It is sophisticated fiction.
3. The Historical Inflection Point
The divergence begins in 1927 with Copenhagen.
Bohr and Heisenberg made a methodological choice: “Shut up and calculate.”
That choice produced:
- 100 years of predictive success
- 100 years of interpretive chaos
- 15+ competing interpretations of the same mathematics
- Zero consensus on what reality is
4. The Opportunity
The physics community is trapped in the bottom half of this table:
- Standard Model (Debris: 4.0)
- ΛCDM (Debris: 5.0)
- String Theory (Debris: Infinite)
They are drowning in debris. They cannot unify because they have methodologically forbidden the question that produces unification.
The Thesis
Unification IS the answer to “why.”
If you ban the question, you ban the solution.
Theophysics restores “why” as the primary methodology.
The result is not more debris.
The result is unification.
Definitions
Debris Ratio = Questions Opened / Questions Answered
- < 1.0 = Theory resolves more than it creates (healthy)
- 1.0 - 3.0 = Theory creates as much as it resolves (stagnant)
- > 3.0 = Theory creates more problems than it solves (toxic)
- Infinite = Theory creates problems with no path to resolution (terminal)
Asks Why?
- YES = Founders explicitly sought causal/ontological mechanisms
- NO = Founders explicitly forbade such questions
- PARTIAL = Mixed approach (some domains yes, others no)
Unification Level
- UNIFIED = Single interpretation dominates
- CONTESTED = 2-5 competing interpretations
- FRAGMENTED = 5+ interpretations, no convergence
