Existence

Before anything else, there is existence. You do not arrive at it by argument. You arrive at it by noticing that you are already here.

Something is. The act of doubting it still happens within it. The sentence “nothing exists” cannot be spoken without contradicting itself. Existence is not a conclusion. It is the floor.

This matters because every later claim depends on it. Matter, mind, law, meaning, and language already assume there is something to talk about. Existence is not one fact among others. It is the condition under which facts appear at all.

It does not answer our questions. It makes it meaningful to ask them.
