P6.1 - The Unified Field
Premise: If information is primary, then geometry and unification are downstream - not upstream.
One-sentence version
If distinctions and information are fundamental, then spacetime structure can be treated as an emergent bookkeeping layer rather than the base layer.
The Paper (Narrative)
Unification is where many systems start to lose readers. The math gets heavy, and the motivation gets vague.
This paper tries to keep the motivation clean.
1) The usual problem
Modern physics has powerful but partially incompatible descriptions:
- quantum mechanics (excellent at small scales),
- general relativity (excellent at large scales).
If your worldview says “matter is primary,” you tend to treat these as the foundation.
But earlier papers put a different stake in the ground:
- information is primitive,
- coherence is a constraint,
- observation is part of actualization,
- closure requires boundary conditions.
Once you accept those, it becomes less crazy to ask whether spacetime and matter are expressions of a deeper informational substrate.
2) The chi-field idea (without the hype)
In the vault, the chi-field (chi / χ) language is used as a name for the self-grounding substrate that instantiates information.
If that substrate is real, it would not be surprising if:
- geometry is a derived structure (how information is arranged),
- matter is a derived structure (how information is embodied),
- and “laws” are low-description constraints (parsimony).
The goal here is not to dump equations on the reader. The goal is to show why the project has the right to try unification as a downstream consequence of earlier axioms.
What This Paper Is Not Claiming
- It is not claiming the unification math is already finished.
- It is not claiming every existing approach to unification is wrong.
- It is claiming that if information is primary, unification is conceptually coherent.
