Confidence & Proof Status

This vault separates proof status (how the claim is supported) from confidence (how strongly we currently hold it).

proof_status (required, single value)

• asserted: adopted as a starting commitment (axioms/definitions); defended, not proven
• formal: derived by explicit logic/math from dependencies
• empirical-supported: supported by evidence extracts + datasets + reproducible results
• inconclusive: partially supported, or evidence is mixed/insufficient
• falsified: contradicted by evidence or by internal inconsistency

Optional confidence (recommended)

Use one of:

• low / medium / high
• or a numeric 0–1 (with a short justification in the note body)

Rule: confidence can change over time; proof_status changes only when the support type changes.
